God is not moved by need but by faith

So often growing up we are taught to continually confess our sins, but never taught to confess our faith ....why?
You know how you hear things your entire life but it doesn't really click until someone phrases it in a way that really makes sense to you ? Well I just had my aha moment this passed Sunday. Pastor Dan from Calvary Jupiter was going through chapter 18 of Genesis, explaining how Abraham and Sarah were becoming bitter and cynical because they had not yet had a child. Being nearly 35 now and having had no such blessing myself, this story really resonated with me and my husband, who was holding my hand right next to me. You see when we hear things over and over we tend to believe them and even start repeating them ourselves, most of the time when it comes to the Bible. However as I've been really learning and understanding more of what the Bible actually says, I've come to learn that what I have said or believed isn't necessarily true or what God's word actually says.
For example. How many times do you hear that "God does everything in his own time" ... "Things will happen when God wants it to happen". "its just not according to his plan" "God must not want this to happen" Or something along those lines? While these statements I believe to be partly true, Dan explained that God works through faith, not timing. It is our own selves who hold us back from Gods promises, simply because we don't speak them or really have faith in them. It is written so many times in the Bible, " You are saved by Faith alone" Ephesians 2:8 "If you ask you will receive if you have faith" Mathew 21:22 and Mark 11:22 "We walk by faith not sight" 2 Corinthians 5:7 There are tons of verses regarding faith and asking for things but by having faith is the only way to truly be rewarded by God.
So many times I have said I trust God, he always puts me in a better place than I was. So for the most part when it has come to not getting pregnant I kept repeating that it just mustn't be the right time, or it will happen when God wants it to happen not when I want it to happen. There must be something he needs from me before he will give me a child. I have held no anger or resentment and I would not say I have really been bitter but I have definitely not understood why. Why do some of my friends have no issue having kids when they didn't even want them in the first place. Mothers who get pregnant again who have all but abandoned the children they already have. Why when the doctors tell me they can find no issues with myself or my husband are we struggling to have a child. I don't really understand the why. Why is it so hard for me to conceive when its something I want so very badly. I don't think I will ever really know for sure but I do believe it could be because my husband and I both have been speaking our circumstance's ... the situation we are in and not truly speaking God's promises.
Abram had the promise from God that he would have many descendants and children ... for 24 years with no manifestation. Some will say that you can have Gods promise for 24 years and you just have to keep holding on. But as Dan put it you can have the problem for 24 years but until you start to say what God says about your situation than nothing is going to change.
It wasn't until Abraham and Sara changed their faith and what they were speaking that they conceived a son together. This is really important to understand : God doesn't move by needs or timing but by faith. So what do we know the Bible says about faith? Well have you ever read the verse about the mustard seed? Luke 17:6 "Faith is like a mustard seed". And faith is planted by speaking it. When a mustard seed is planted it doesn't take years to sprout it actually comes up very fast. So one could assume by what we are told that once we start speaking his words and promises over and over it wont take long for it to show up in our lives. Faith also comes by hearing the word of God Romans 10:17. Normally when we come to believe something we have to hear and hear and hear it over and over again, just like when you want your children to believe something you have to be careful what you say to them because they will believe it. But belief actually comes faster when we speak it out loud and always remind ourselves of it. If we actually say what God says about our situation or problems or our wants we will begin to believe it and it will begin to take shape and happen in our lives. This is a central theme through out the Bible.

You see when Abram and Sarai were told they would have a ton of children, they didn't really believe it in their hearts or speak it out loud. If you read through the book regarding Abram (exhalated father) he never speaks what God tells him will happen, he only speaks his "circumstances" saying a few things but mainly that "you have given me no offspring" Genesis 15:2 and does not speak of the promise that God had made to him. In fact Sarai's first recorded words in the Bible were "The Lord has kept me from having children". They are believers that are speaking their circumstances not the promise. The longer time went on with no children the more bitter and cynical they became. The more bad decisions they made. It wasn't until God changed their names to Abraham, which in Hebrew literally means "father of a multitude" and Sarah which means "My Princess", that they actually came to have Isaac. You see God made it so they literally had to call each other "My Princess' and "Father of a multitude" every single day and it wasn't until they had to speak it that they were finally blessed with a child. He has given us this example so that we can understand what it means to have faith, to believe in his word. If you think about it, everyone that addressed Abraham had to speak it when they referred to him and he had to introduce himself as a father of a multitude to everyone he came in contact with.
Initially when his name was changed he fell on his face and laughed. However once he began to speak the promise things began to change rapidly. When it comes to faith we need to learn to say what God says, than it will begin to work and plant inside of us. This is a principle I need to learn.
So often growing up we are taught to continually confess our sins, but never taught to confess our faith.
So here are my affirmations of some of Gods promises to me. These are things I will begin to say out loud on a daily basis. I will believe them with my whole heart because God wants me to succeed. He wants me to have children and he wants the best for me.

Psalm 84 :11 For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord will give grace and glory; no good thing will He withhold from them that walk uprightly.
God is not holding me back from having children or from being successful. He will not withhold good things from me if i walk in faith and uprightly
Genesis 88:14 Is anything too difficult/wonderful for the Lord?
No, there is nothing my God cannot do. He can absolutely give me beautiful healthy, faithful children and I have faith that he will.
Genesis 1:27 God created man in his own image
Since God created me in his own image he too desired children and created me to want them and to care for them as well.
Psalm 113:9 He settles the childless woman in her home as a happy mother of children
God countless times performed miracles and made barren women pregnant, he can absolutely make me a mother
1 Timothy 2:15 But women will be saved through child bearing-if they continue in faith, love and holiness with propriety.
If I have faith, love and holiness I will be saved through childbearing
